Describe your position at Axis Corporate, part of Accenture

I am an Associate Managing Director in the regulatory and compliance area, specialising in advising financial institutions and corporations in the areas of capital, risk management, and compliance. Currently, I am part of the Global Risk & Sustainability team at Axis Corporate, part of Accenture.

What do you value most about your position?

What I value most is being able to help our clients, working as part of a multidisciplinary and international team, and transmitting knowledge and experience to the human capital. I also like offering up different innovative solutions that respond to current market challenges. I feel very comfortable with the company’s independence criteria when presenting the best solution for the market, depending on each case.

What are the key ingredients to being good at what you do?

Working with passion fuels vision, resilience, and perseverance. My trick is to do the most tedious work at the beginning of the day. I try to work intensely, without interruption, for periods of no more than 90 minutes; then, I try to take a break. Then, as a final yet vital ingredient, always consider expert feedback.

What advice would you give to a client in order to face new market challenges?

Facing today’s challenges requires risk managers to have a broad set of skills. Leaders in risk management and control leave behind their traditional roles based on reaction and response to broaden their scope of action, giving way to a large dose of proactivity, taking advantage of all opportunities to bring value to the organisation. Flexibility is another quality of a great risk manager: working with all areas of the organisation and enhancing the feeling of belonging to it.

What phrase do you like to start your day with?

The heart shows the way while the head only lays out the steps.
