Ramón has a degree in Economics with more than 23 years of experience in different areas of business administration (CEO, Chief Financial Officer, etc.) and strategy and process consulting (KPMG, Everis, etc.).
As a consultant, he has led transformation projects in companies such as ARQUIA, Institut Català de Finances (ICF), Fira de Barcelona, IMADE, etc.
In the Banking and Financial Services sector, Ramón has led projects to create dashboards for business areas, GTB, and business intelligence for companies such as Banco Santander and BBVA.
He has also participated in projects for LATAM for several years, such as the creation of the Business Intelligence Competency Center (BICC) for BBVA Bancomer and in projects for integrating Data Discovery tools for clients such as Grupo Alsea, Vicky Form, BBVA Bancomer, Banamex, Banorte, Monsanto, Banregio, etc.
Also noteworthy are the positioning project (Business and Operations Model) and landing in Mexico for Banco Sabadell and the comprehensive Financial Process re-engineering project for PEMEX (Petróleos Mexicanos).
As Senior Manager, Ramón will contribute to implementing and developing high-value consulting in the Financial Services vertical (Banking and Insurance).
- What is your position at Axis Corporate, part of Accenture?
I am joining as Senior Manager and I am here to bring my “backpack” of experience, mainly aimed at supporting, implementing, and developing the services of the Financial Services vertical, mainly in the Banking and Insurance sector. I have a hybrid profile: on the one hand, participating in the coordination/management of IT projects, and on the other, joining in business development by providing and carrying out solutions to the challenges that customers share with us.
- Why did you join the company?
For the constant challenge. I have been in the consulting field for many years and I wanted to continue my career on the same path. Consulting allows you to be on constant alert, a permanent adrenaline rush caused by day-to-day activities. Dealing with people (both colleagues and clients) is very enriching. Consulting offers you just that, and Axis Corporate, part of Accenture, offers it.
- What would you highlight most about your position?
The diversity of tasks that can be carried out in the same day. The more hours you spend flying in this profession, the more you see new aspects that never cease to surprise you. You wonder about and question everything. Depending on who you speak to, you have to accelerate or step on the brakes, suddenly going up three steps only to go down five a moment later. I would also highlight being able to understand the clients in order to lend them a hand and accompany them in their challenges. Consistency, tenacity, and perseverance are qualities that I would highlight in my position.
- What is your biggest challenge right now?
Gaining the trust of all my colleagues and being able to transmit the enthusiasm and passion I have for this profession. Being able to have as much fun as I have had so far with what I do.
- Do you have any role models?
I was very inspired by Steve Jobs, both as an entrepreneur and as a human being. His perseverance, his know-how, his great capacity for sacrifice, his humility, and how innovative he was… Without a doubt, he is and has been a role model for me.
- What are your main hobbies?
Cooking, cooking, and, of course, eating. I am passionate about cooking. I like to cook. It relaxes me and fulfils me to receive guests at home, to entertain them with some of the things I cook. I am a good host. Everything related to the gourmet awakens my curiosity and I am very interested in it. I also like to go to the food markets, discover new products that I didn’t know about before, and put all my senses on alert. I’m a foodie, through and through. I like to travel… gastronomically speaking, always surrounded by family and friends. I like playing padel tennis and wading or swimming in fresh or salt water. I’m quite the film buff and I’ve been a fan of several TV series for a while now.
